Abstract

The purpose of this research: 1.) To understand and to describe the role of
Pancasila Education teacher at MA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang in developing P5-based
character. 2) To understand and to describe the challenges faced by Pancasila
Education teacher at MA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang in developing P5-based characters
in students. 3) To understand and to describe the solutions carried out by the Pancasila
Education teacher at MA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang in developing P5-based character
in students.
The research method uses qualitative methods. Meanwhile, the research
location is in MA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. Data sources were obtained from
Pancasila Education teacher, P5 Coordinator, and students at MA Muhammadiyah 1
Malang. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and documentation.
The results of the research show (1) Pancasila Education Teacher at MA
Muhammadiyah 1 Malang in developing student character based on P5 has fulfilled
the teacher's role in accordance with the main duties of teachers in UU No. 14 Tahun
2005, namely educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, assessing, and
evaluating (2) Pancasila Education Teacher at MA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang has faced
challenges in the form of student confusion regarding assignments, different student
characters, and student boredom (3) Pancasila Education Teacher at MA
Muhammadiyah 1 Malang has shown solutions to overcome obstacles to student
character development based on P5.
