Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of CapCut-based animated video in improving Arabic Maharah Kalam of grade VIII students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. The method used in this research is Pre-Experimental Design with One Group Pretest Posttest Design and the collection of information used is observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are validity test, reliability test, normality test, hypothesis test, effectiveness test. The population in this study amounted to 72 students and the sample used amounted to 23 students, namely class VIII A. The results of data analysis are presented by comparing pretest and posttest scores (paired sample T test). The results of this study are: (1) the application of animated video media which in its implementation is divided into 3 activities, namely: Introduction, core, and closing. (2) there is an increase in the results of students' Maharah Kalam scores based on pre-test and post-test scores with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.00 <0.05 and based on the results of the N-Gain test by obtaining a value of 0.55 which is included in the moderate category. Therefore, the application of animated video media is said to be effective in improving Arabic reading skills, where the average value of students at the time of the pre-test was 32.43 and at the time of the post-test value increased by 68.69.
