Abstract

One of the efforts to overcome the problem of learning Arabic is to improve vocabulary by using learning media. Today's learning media is very diverse, depending on how teachers use it well. This study is based on Realia media. This study aims to determine how Realia media is used and its level of effectiveness.

This study uses a quantitative approach, an experimental research type with a True Experimental Design research design type of Pretest-Posttest Group Design consisting of class VII Ali bin Abi Talib with a total of 19 students as an Experimental class and class VII Zainab Binti Jahsy with a total of 20 students as a control class. The data collection methods include observation, interviews, tests and documentation. The data analysis methods include a construct validity test, reliability test, normality test, paired t-test, and effectiveness test. The study results in grade VII of SMPIT Insan Permata Malang show that Realia media can improve students' vocabulary.

The results were supported by the results of the Paired Sample T-Test, which yielded a result of 0.000 ≤ 0.05. These results show a difference in the level of vocabulary mastery before and after the implementation of Realia media. This was also reinforced by calculating the Gain of both classes; the experimental class was larger than the control class of 50.98 > 24.40. Based on this description, it can be concluded that Realia media to improve Arabic vocabulary in grade VII of SMPIT Insan Permata Malang is said to be quite effective.
