Abstract
Based on the results of observations and interviews with fourth grade teachers at SDN Temas 01 Batu on October 30, 2023, teaching and learning activities in the classroom, especially in the subject of Science and Social Sciences (IPAS) regarding plant parts and their functions, some students show a passive attitude, such as being slow in understanding the teacher's explanation. Students' unfocus on the material presented is caused by the lack of learning media that is suitable for the topic so that there is an effort to improve through the development of learning media. The purpose of this research is to develop Pop Up Book (TREEPOP) learning media with Plant Parts and Functions Material for Grade IV Elementary School.
This research uses the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. To analyze the data, this study applied qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. As data sources, 21 students from class IV of SDN Temas 01 Batu for the 2024/2025 school year were selected. This research was conducted from July to August 2024, with data collection techniques focusing on the implementation of the use of Pop Up Book (TREEPOP) media and the effectiveness of its use through observation, interviews, questionnaires, evaluation tests, and documentation.
This Pop Up Book (TREEPOP) media development obtained 88% material validation results and 97.22% media validation results. The results of the material and media validation are categorized as very feasible to be implemented. Meanwhile, the student response questionnaire obtained a score of 93% which stated that the media was very interesting. This can be interpreted that the development of Pop Up Book (TREEPOP) learning media with the Material of Plant Parts and Their Functions for Class IV Elementary Schools can attract the attention of students so that they are more active in participating in learning.
