Abstract
Background: The early signs and symptoms when someone has pneumonia are shortness of breath due to inflammation in the lungs, disrupted gas exchange, and difficulty breathing (dyspnea) caused by inflammation in the lung mucus.
Method: The method used in this study is case study research which involves 2 patients diagnosed with pneumonia. The researcher's methods include assessment, data analysis, nursing interventions, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation. In the data collection process, the author used techniques such as interviews, observations, and relevant documentation studies related to the two patients under study.
Results: Based on the results of the analysis of emergency nursing cases that have been studied, after carrying out the nebulizer, chest physiotherapy and effective cough, it can be concluded that the nebulizer, chest physiotherapy and effective cough can reduce shortness of breath in patients by clearing the airway and removing retained sputum in patients. Nebulizers can be used as an initial measure in patients who have problems with ineffective airway clearance or shortness of breath.
Discussion: Based on the results of the analysis of emergency nursing cases that have been studied, after carrying out the nebulizer, chest physiotherapy and effective cough, it can be concluded that the nebulizer, chest physiotherapy and effective cough can reduce shortness of breath in patients by clearing the airway and removing retained sputum in patients. Nebulizers can be used as an initial measure in patients who have problems with ineffective airway clearance or shortness of breath.
