Abstract

Fashion trends will continue to grow over time, tailors should also be willing and learn to pursue current fashion trends in Indonesia to survive. Like the Tailor Indonesia Blitar community, it’s one of the communities that deals in fashion. Purpose of the research is to find out how communication activities are the group in the fashion education for the Tailor Indonesia Blitar community. This study uses the social exchange theory and using qualitative approaches with descriptive and research types it uses observation, interviews, and documentation. Research shows that communication is used between mentors and their members in the learning process is communication groups and the two kinds of communication that mentors use are verbal and nonverbal. The conclusion of this study is communication activity the group in the Tailor Indonesia Blitar community has done so on a forum workshop done in face to face, members can coordinate with mentors to complete duty/practice, and free members within asking question. Social interaction and emotional relationships can be assist in group communication activities.
