Abstract
The development of internet use is in line with technological developments in Indonesia, so organizations that are unable to adapt to developments in information technology and the internet will find it difficult to develop in the face of today's global competition. The current organization of computerized data management plays a bigger role than manual data management. Muhammadiyah 2 High School has a new library which does not have many books. The library still uses a system of borrowing and returning books manually. This makes the process inefficient, wasteful of paper, inaccurate data, and disorganized and messy book filing. To increase the effectiveness and efficiency of processes in the library, it is necessary to use Business Process Reengineering (BPR) methods to improve old business processes. The stages in business process reengineering consist of data collection, business process analysis, business process throughput efficiency test, process redesign improvement, process redesign recommendation, throughput efficiency test business process recommendation, comparison of throughput efficiency test results and finally the solution. The results of the research that has been done are 2 business processes, namely, borrowing books and returning books. By using the business process reengineering method each throughput efficiency value is 46% and 35%. After re-engineering business processes, both business processes experienced an increase in throughput efficiency of 100%.
