Abstract

This thesis is entitled China's National Interests in Pakistan in Economic Cooperation Through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2013-2023. This study aims to analyze and explain the interests that make China cooperate with Pakistan, to find out and reveal the causes that drive China in this cooperation, and at the same time to explain the security interests, economic interests, world order, and ideology of China from the period 2013-2023. This study uses a descriptive research method and then uses a qualitative analysis method with sources of articles, books, and journals. This study uses the theory of national interest from Donald E. Nuechterlein. According to Donald E. Nuechterlein there are four defense interests, economic interests, world order interests, and ideological interests. This study will explain China's interests in Pakistan through this cooperation. China seeks to achieve its national interests. The relationship between the two countries has become a bilateral Iron Brothers friendship. The friendship between the two countries is increasingly heading in a much better direction than before when the China Pakistan Economic Corridor became a milestone towards improvement. This study also faces the dynamics experienced by China when pursuing its national interests.
