Abstract

This study analyzes teacher perceptions of the use of e-books and YouTube as digital media in teaching English at elementary schools, specifically at SDN Bakalanpule 2. The research aims to explore the advantages and disadvantages of both media and understand how they influence the learning process. A qualitative approach was employed to gather data on teachers' perspectives. The findings reveal that teachers generally hold positive views on the use of e-books and YouTube, recognizing their potential to enhance student engagement and provide diverse learning materials. However, challenges such as technical issues and the need for improved digital literacy among both teachers and students were identified. Addressing these challenges is crucial to optimizing the effectiveness of these tools in teaching English at the elementary school level. The study concludes that while e-books and YouTube offer significant benefits, efforts are needed to overcome the obstacles in order to fully leverage their potential in the educational context.
