Abstract

The main focus of the research was to design an electronic speed control (ESC)
sensorless build for unmanned aircraft. (UAV). The need for efficient and reliable
ESC is increasing with the growth of UAV applications in various fields.
However, most ESC components on the market are still dominated by expensive
imports. Therefore, the development of local ESCs has become essential to
supporting the domestic UAV industry. Through the application of control
methods and the use of high-quality components, ESC is able to reduce the
variability of speed caused by external fluctuations such as changes in wind
direction. In addition, the power optimization feature allows longer and more
stable flight durations. The implementation of an integrated control system using
the STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller, which is integrated with the Back
Electromotive Force (BEMF) measurement technique for sensorless feedback,
demonstrates improved efficiency and reliability. Test results indicate that the
BLDC motor was successfully controlled. So it can be confirmed that the
developed ESC can operate efficiently at almost 100% with minimal tolerance. If
developed, it could offer competitive alternatives to imported products and
support the advancement of UAV technology in Indonesia.
