Abstract
Science is a combination of two subjects, namely Natural Sciences and Social Sciences, where these two learning contexts are interrelated with nature and the social. This science and science learning aims to develop students' knowledge about nature and society in everyday life. Science learning, especially science material, is always related to media, but there are quite a few teachers who only use the lecture method without any concrete learning media that can support science learning. Based on the results of the analysis, class III students at SDN Tlekung 1 Batu still lack understanding of the rain cycle and the process of the rain cycle due to the lack of supporting learning media. Regarding this matter, the researchers here aim to develop Rain Cycle Diorama (DIOSAN) media which is able to support learning so that it is interesting and students can be active and enthusiastic in learning.
The aim of this research is to produce Rain Cycle Diorama media products for natural and social science learning in class III in elementary schools. This type of research uses the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The data collection techniques used were field observations, interviews with class teachers, questionnaires (material and media validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires) and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive data and quantitative data analysis.
The results of the development of Rain Cycle Diorama Media with Rain Cycle material show that the assessment percentage in material validation is 91%, in media validation the percentage is 88% which states that the material and media are suitable for implementation. Meanwhile, the response from teachers to scrapbook media got a percentage of 90% and the response from students got 95%. Based on the results obtained, it shows that the development of Rain Cycle Diorama media is suitable for use and can support the learning process of students in class III elementary schools. However, in this research, of course, there is still a media appearance, where there is one process that is lacking in visuals, namely the evaporation stage, which should show the evaporation process well, so innovation and creativity are needed from future researchers who will develop the media
