Abstract

Background: Pain, tightness, and anxiety are the most common symptoms experienced by patients with advanced ca servix. Patients with these symptoms greatly interfere with the patient's life at the end of his life, so palliative care for cancer patients is urgently needed. Palliative care focuses on reducing symptoms so that the patient's quality of life can be improved.
Research Method: This research is a case study research. The subject of the study was Mrs. M aged 64 years old with a diagnosis of stage IVB ca servix who had complaints of pain, tightness and anxiety. This research was conducted in the Singkarak room of Dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang on February 1, 3-17, 2024. The data collection method was carried out by interviews, observations, and physical examinations. The data analysis used is a comparative analysis by comparing the results of the grouping assessment whose data is analyzed in accordance with the Indonesia Nursing Diagnostic Standards (SDKI) and comparing the results of the nursing intervention using the Indonesia Nursing Intervention Standard (SIKI) with the results of the intervention compared to the Indonesia Nursing Output Standard (SLKI) and iThe intensity of Mrs. M's pain, tightness and anxiety was measured by oxygen saturation (SPO2) so that a nursing diagnosis was obtained, namely ineffective breathing patterns, chronic pain and anxiety.
Results: The intensity of Mrs. M's complaints before being given non-pharmacological intervention increased on the first day, namely pain increased (1) pulse 120x/min (scale 7), tightness increased (1) SPO2 93% RR 28x/min, anxiety increased (1) 120x/min, while after being given nonpharmacological intervention showed a decrease compared to before the intervention, namely pain on the first day increased (1), the second day became quite increased (2), on the third day it became moderate (3), on the fourth day it decreased quite (4) until the fifth day it decreased (5) (scale 3), on the first day it increased (1), on the second day it increased moderately (2), on the third day it moderately decreased (3), on the fourth day it decreased moderately (4) and on the fifth day it decreased (5) (SPO2 98%, RR 20x/min, and the anxiety on the first day moderately increased (2) on the second day moderately (3) until the fifth day decreased (5).
Conclusion and Suggestions: The provision of palliative care by providing non-pharmacological therapy to reduce symptoms is effective in reducing the symptoms felt in patients with stage IVB cacervix. Advice for nurses to be able to apply palliative care with nonpharmacological interventions in patients with cancer to reduce the symptoms that appear.
