Abstract
The research entitled “The 2024 Presidential Election Dispute Decision in Online Media Coverage (Framing Analysis of the Coverage of Detikcom and Tempo.co News Portals for the April 2024 Period)” aims to see how the framing carried out by online media Detik.com and Tempo.co in reporting the 2024 Presidential Election Dispute Decision. To achieve this goal, researchers reviewed four framing structures, namely syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures, where the four structures are part of the Zhongdang Pan and Gerlad M. Kosicki framing model. There are also approaches and methods used in this research, namely a qualitative approach with descriptive methods.
The results of this study show that Detikcom and Tempo.co conducted framing completely, accurately, and in accordance with data obtained from reliable sources. In the framing process, both online media do not take sides or support any party. However, when viewed from the news titles, Detikcom uses more headlines that focus on government agencies or institutions, while the title of Tempo.co focuses more on the 2024 Presidential Election Dispute Decision. From the results of the research, it can be concluded that Detikcom is more about presenting news according to facts by highlighting allegations regarding the 2024 Presidential Election Dispute Decision and Tempo.co highlights news that is more independent and does not repeat in detail and clearly. Both online media also maintain their consistency in using language that is in accordance with the rules of language in the news.
