Abstract

Communication Pattern is a form of interaction between individuals in a group or organization. The form of communication in an organization turns out to have its own communication pattern and leadership style, so that it has a kind of communication network. Communication network is a pattern of how people in an organization communicate with each other. This is what happens in the UMM Communication Science Student Association organization, where the form of communication carried out by the leader is the form of communication above and the pattern of all channels/stars, while in the leadership style it is a democratic style. The communication above can be seen from the task instructions given by the leader, the delivery of messages rationally. The pattern of communication of all channels/stars is seen in the interactions that occur between members during coordination, and the existence of problem-solving actions. The democratic style is where the leader gives freedom and breadth to subordinates to express their opinions. This style creates a situation where individuals can learn, are able to monitor their own performance, and recognize subordinates to determine mature targets. The communication pattern and leadership style are apparently able to build the motivation of the members of the Association.
