Abstract

Based on observations and interviews on August 3, 2018 by researchers at Mi Bustanul Ulum Batu City is one of the schools that carry out character education, this can be seen from activities by way of habituation. This can be seen through activities such as shaking hands with the teacher when they arrive at school, praying Dhuha and so on. The focus of this study aims to find out: 1) the application of character education through habituation in Mi Bustanul Ulum Kota Batu, 2) character values implemented in students at MI Bustanul Ulum Batu City.
This study uses descriptive qualitative research and the design used in this study is a case study. The study was conducted at MI Bustanul Ulum Batu City with the research subjects being fourth grade students. Data collection was carried out by observation during the first visit to school, interviews with the Principal, and documentation at the time of the study. Data analysis is done by providing an explanation of the data that has been collected. Data checking is done by triangulating or comparing data from various sources and drawing conclusions.
Based on the results of the analysis obtained there are 2 conclusions that I can explain. 1) the application of character education through habituation at MI Bustanul Ulum Kota Batu has been in harmony with the 18 points of character values developed in cultural education and national character. 2) character values implemented by students at MI Bustanul Ulum Kota Batu, there are three values, namely religious, disciplined and caring for the environment.
