Abstract
Speaking skill is valuable skill in both personal and professional life that can enhance communication effectively and fluently. The aim of this research is to know the specific materials are utilized by teachers for teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) speaking and the students' perceptions towards ESP speaking materials provided by the teacher of the Informatics Engineering Department of UMM. The research method applied in this research is mixed-method by involving 48 students who have taken and are currently taking ESP speaking courses. It was found out that the materials provided by teacher are self-introduction, suggestion and opinion, invitation, advertisement / promote product, handle complaint, debate, and telling procedure materials. While the students’ perception towards ESP speaking materials is a positive perception.
