Abstract
Language style in a talk show plays an important role in conveying messages and influencing audience opinions. In the Gaduh Tiga Periode episode, the use of various language styles can be observed through the sentence structure used by the speakers. Analysis of language style based on sentence structure can provide in-depth insights into how arguments are structured and delivered, as well as how language is used to build effective rhetoric.
This research will focus on identifying the types of language styles based on the sentence structure used by the speakers in the Gaduh Tiga Periode episode, and analyzing how the sentence structure contributes to the delivery of arguments and messages. The theory used in this research is Language Style Based on Sentence Structure based on Gorys Keraf's theory.
The method used in research is very important in the form of descriptive. Starting with an explanation or description of the problem, this research analyzes and interprets the existing data. The data collected from this study is qualitative. The data collection method is by listening and recording. The data source used in this research is a video with the title Gaduh Tiga Periode Mata Najwa with a duration of 1 hour 16 minutes 18 seconds on Youtube media uploaded on March 21, 2021.
The results show that the sentence structure used by the speakers in this talk show not only functions as a tool to communicate ideas and opinions, but also reflects the emotions, attitudes, and personal nuances of the speakers on the topics discussed. The use of language styles such as antithesis, repetition, climax, anticlimax, and parallelism provide color and rhetorical power that enrich the conversation.
