Abstract
The teacher's role in learning activities is very complex and is required to perform professionally by adhering to the applicable curriculum. The benchmark for learning objectives is the achievement of student learning outcomes. The teacher's role as an evaluator is the most urgent aspect in teaching and education because it determines the benchmarks for the success of learning objectives. One subject of study that must be applied in all educational units at every level is religious education, because it contains noble values that guide the life of every community. The aim of Islamic education is to internalize the noble values of the Islamic religion in forming the character and personality of students, one of which is through Al-Qur'an tadarus activities. It is hoped that familiarization with Al-Qur'an tadarus can make the values contained an example in forming students with character and personality, akhlakul karimah. The less than optimal implementation of religious education is reflected in the problem of juvenile delinquency. Many fifth grade elementary school students cannot read the Al-Qur'an, this proves the lack of student interaction with the Al-Qur'an. In this case, learning evaluation is needed to determine the benchmark for each student's ability to maximize learning. So that the teacher plays a full role as an evaluator of Al-Qur'an tadarus activities. The purpose of this research is to determine the role of Islamic religious education teachers as evaluators of Tadarus Al-Qur'an activities for fifth grade students at SD Negeri Sidoharjo 1 Lamongan in terms of the results of interviews and observations. This research uses qualitative field research methods with a descriptive approach. The location of this research is at SD Negeri Sidoharjo 1 Lamongan. The results of this research, first, the teacher has full control over the entire learning process, so that the learning process through to evaluation can be implemented optimally. Second, there are obstacles that prevent learning objectives from being achieved optimally, namely in terms of the character of students who are shy and differences in students' abilities so that they lag behind other friends. Third, to determine benchmarks for learning success, teachers apply a pre-test and post-test system.
