Abstract
Thesis writing is a course that is usually held by face-to-face meeting, but
since the pandemic era, it has occurred online Thesis writing is a course that is completed before getting an undergraduate degree, usually, this learning occurs face-to-face for assignment consultations. This research is about students’ perception of using WhatsApp for learning thesis writing courses online. This research aims to find out student perceptions and the advantages and disadvantages of learning thesis writing using the WhatsApp application. This research uses mixed methods and uses questionnaires and interviews as data collection. Questionnaires were distributed via Google form while interviews were conducted online via video call by WhatsApp. Four English Language Education Department students participated in this research. Based on the research results, it was found that the participants positive perceptions of using WhatsApp in learning thesis writing online courses are positive through questionnaire. Students show different perceptions of the use of WhatsApp, especially in learning thesis writing.
