Abstract

There are several methods used in construction. One of them is the cast-in situ/conventional method, in which the application is done in the structure element of the construction. In its application, the method has several shortcomings. It is time-consuming, has poor quality control, and requires a lot of formwork and labors. It results in cost and time overrun. Moreover, there is a method of precast that is basically the same as the production of reinforced concrete. The difference lays on the production process which is done in a special site of precast production and then structured into a whole unit (erection). Compared to the conventional method, the precast method can decrease the number of labor and formwork and thus can reduce the time and cost of the construction. The data used for the comparison of these two methods was the secondary data. The secondary data were in form of structure images and the Unit Price Analysis of the construction. In this last project, an alternative conventional design was made and then substituted by the Rb-Cont. Precast System. The results showed that the conventional method required 154 days with total cost of IDR 6.451,120,028 to construct. Meanwhile, the RB-Cont. System Precast required 116 days with total cost of IDR 8.261.091,771
