Abstract
SMAN 1 Kotawaringin Lama was a non-religious state school, but it reflected a good religious atmosphere. The students of the SMAN 1 Kotawaringin Lama had a good character, but the religious character was still less embedded in them. Religious values are still insufficient so that the lack of embedded religious character in the students themselves.
The goal of the SMAN 1 Kotawaringin Lama is to create a school citizen who is faithful, religious, and moral. This research is related to the formation of the religious character of students. The focus of the research that the researchers will discuss in this study is: 1) What is the program of teachers of Islamic Religion Education in the formation of the religious character of students in SMAN 1 Kotawaringin Lama. 2) How the role of the teacher of Religious Education Islamic religion in the creation of the Religious Character of the students in the SMAN 1 Kotawaringin Lama. The purpose of this study is to: 1) Describe the program of teachers of Islamic Religion Education in the formation of the religious character of students in SMAN 1 Kotawaringin Lama. 2) Describes the role of the teacher of Religious Education of Islam in the creation of the religion character of the students in the SMAN 1 Kotawaringin Lama.
The research method used is qualitative method with the type of case study. Data collection in this study uses observation, interview, and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques use (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, (3) drawing conclusions and verification.
The results of this study show that not all students in SMAN 1 Kotawaringin Lama embedded religious character in themselves. Teachers of Islamic Religious Education have created programs in the formation Religious character of students. In order to good results, the role of the teacher of Islamic Religious Education is also essential in the formation of the religious character of students.
