Abstract
Extracurricular activities are carried out by students outside of formal face-to-face learning hours. Extracurricular activities can be carried out inside the school in accordance with their fields. One of the extracurricular activities is dance. The extracurricular art of jaranan buto dance at SDN 4 Buluagung gets high enthusiasm from students and parents. This study aims to determine the implementation, obstacles, and solutions in extracurricular activities of jaranan buto dance at SDN 4 Buluagung.
This research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, which in the process uses observation, interviews, and documentation techiques. The subjects in this study were all students who participated in extracurricular activities of jaranan buto dance and also extracurricular companion teachers. The students who take part in extracurricular activities at this time are 17 students, consisting of 10 female students and 7 tudents, at beginning of the extracurricular program, 20 students were registered to participate in this practice, but currebtly only 17 studets are active. This extracurricular activity is a forum for students who have talents and interests in the field of dance, especially the art of jaranan butp dance. Extracurricular jaranan buto dance is expected to continue to develop and improve the existence of jaranan art in the southern Banyuwangi area, and invite students to always love regional art.
The result showed that extracurricular activities of jaranan buto dance are very effective to help increase existence in order to preserve regional arts in Banyuwangi. Students can channel their interest and talents in the field of dance andalways love regional arts. Through extracurricular activities of jaranan buto dance, students can hone their knowledge in the non-academic field, of course, int the art of jaranan buto dance. This is based on the result of observations during the activity and the results of interviews with extracurricular teachers and students who take take part in extracurricular companion teacher and students who take part in extracurricular dance activities.
