Abstract
Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world, this is because Indonesia has 17,508 large and small islands. Indonesia has a land area of 1.937 million km2 with a sea area of 5.8 million km2 with the longest coastline in the world separated by valleys, plateaus, rivers and others. Therefore, infrastructure is needed in the form of bridges to connect separated areas. At the KJI XVII 2022 event, there are several competition classifications, one of which is steel frame bridges with carbon steel material. However, this type of profile is very rarely found in the field on actual bridges, so the author carried out a profile comparison between Wide Flange and Double Channel and converted the actual bridge to a scale of 1:10. From the results of the analysis carried out by the author, the deflection on the Wide Flange profile was obtained with a deflection of 1.05 mm and the deflection on the Double Channel profile with a deflection of 2.36 mm which is in accordance with the provisions below the permit deflection of 31 mm. The cross-sectional areas of the two profiles have also been equalized, so that there is a strong comparison between the two profiles. A bridge with a Wide Flange profile has a bridge weight of 39,081 kg and a Double Channel profile bridge has a bridge weight of 40,325.46 kg. From these two results, the Wide Flange profile was chosen as the bridge profile that makes up the bridge because it is economical compared to bridges with a Double Channel profile.
