Abstract

This research is based on vast entertainment programs presented by television. Among the various entertainment programs, football sport program is one of program interested by audiences. One of favorite football program interested by audiences in Indonesia is Barclays Premier League (BPL). In Indonesia, Barclays Premier League (BPL) program can be watched from Aora television under PT Karyamegah Adijaya. As a new television operator, Aora wants to get new customer as many as possible by subscribing exclusive broadcasting right of Barclays Premier League(BPL) for 2008/2009 competition season. Since known that the BPL program is only broadcasted by Aora, many people are interested to subcribe aora with the purpose to be able to see the Barclays Premier League. Problem of this research is whether there is relationship between the Barclays Premier League program in Aora tv and the audience satisfaction. Aim the research is to know whether there is relationship between the Barclays Premier League presentation in Aora tv and the audience interest. The research uses explanative quantitative research design by using survey method. Research population is Aora tv subscribers in Dharmahusada Indah Housing Surabaya with total of 40 respondents. Sampling technique used in this research is total sampling. After collecting data, then it is analyzed by using product moment. Result of the research showed that correlation coefficient (r) gained from calculation is 0.423, while r table for 5% significance is 0.312. So r of calculation is higher than r of table, means that Hi, there is relationship between the Barclays Premier League program in Aora tv and the audience satisfaction , is accepted. Then , consultation is done to the correlation coefficient interpretation table aiming to know the correlation level. From the result, is can be seen that r of calculation 0.423 is between 0.40-0.599 with the level of relationship is fair.
