The success of individual in learning process is influenced by many factors, such as the English material, the teachers, the facilities or media used for studying. English is given because it is very important in all of parts although some people think that learning English is difficult but if we want to get success in learning English we have to study hard. Motivation in learning English to one factor that gives strong influence to the students in their activity in leaning English and it can help the teachers motivate them. The purposes of this study are to know how are the student’s motivation in learning English. This study describes the first students’ motivation in learning English at SMK 3 Pamekasan – Madura. This research used a descriptive research to obtain the information related to the students’ motivation in learning English. The questionnaire was distributed to the students to get the data. The population was the first year students SMK 3 Pamekasan – Madura and the sample was class (11) and (12). The result of this research showed that there were 29 students (48.3%) got the scores of motivation 7079 (high motivation). 14 students (23.3%) got the scores 80100 (very high motivation). Then, 10 students (16.7%) got the scores 6069 (moderate motivation), 5 students (8.3%) got the scores 5059 (low motivation). The last, 2 students (3.4%) had scores 049 (very low motivation). The mean score of students’ motivation was 75.01. It means that, the students’ motivation in learning is high.
