Abstract

The effort of PKn teacher is very important in implanting democracy values. But, if students have no strong willingness to advance, while headmaster and teachers or the related parties do not support it, hence democracy values investment on students will be meaningless. By the effort, it is hoped that students will be more understood about the sense of cooperation, transferring ideas, being groups and sense of mutually believes. The purpose of this research is to know about some problems on the focus of research. Those focuses are: (1) knowing about the effort of PKn teacher in investing democracy value, (2) knowing democracy values invested by PKn teacher, and (3) knowing the constrains faced by PKn teacher in investing democracy values. Research design and approach used in this research is qualitative descriptive research. Research location is at SMP Muhammadiyah 06 Dau. Data collecting technique is interview, questionnaire, observation, literature and documentation. Triangulation technique is used to check data. Data analysis is started from studying whole data from any sources, data reduction, data validity examination, and data interpretation to become substantive theory by using particular method. Research result shows that: (1) the effort of PKn teacher in investing democracy value on students is by invite the student to make a deal to choose the right teaching procedure. If the students break their own agreement, they will get punishment according to the violation they have done. Assignment to children and teaching by speech method, thus it is hoped the investment of democracy value by the method above can increase relationship and cooperation inter-students. (2) Democracy value invested by PKn teacher is Pancasila democracy values, because it is democracy based on the populist leaded by prudence wisdom in deliberation/representation, that have core on discussion to reach an agreement cooperatively. (3) Constrain faced by PKn teacher in investing democracy value is the lack of willingness to compete inter-friends. Teaching process in the class, students tend to not serious or accept all rules given by teacher as the way it is, even if the rules is not completely good for students creativity. Students have plentiful reticence or shyness to teacher, so it is hard to grow democracy values.
