Abstract

This research is case study in Service Company of tour and travel in PT Gilang Perkasa Probolinggo and the title is “The analysis of diversification strategy for making competitive quality in PT Gilang Wisata Perkasa Probolinggo”. The purpose of this research is to know the implementation of diversification strategy in PT Gilang Wisata Perkasa in order to be able to make the competitive quality. The analysis method which is used to know the implementation of diversification strategy in PT Gilang Wisata Perkasa Probolinggo is using SWOT analysis. It refers to external analysis of company (EFAS) and internal analysis of company (IFAS), and then this research uses Matrix Internal External model to formulate the diversification strategy that should be done by the company. In the external analysis of company (EFAS) was found 7 opportunities and threats, and internal analysis of company (IFAS) was found 7 powers and weakness which is each of them given value and rate. It was gotten the score total of EFAS 1,97 and 2,43 from IFAS. The score total was formulated with Matrix Internal External Model, and found that meeting point between EFAS and IFAS line was located in cell of diversification strategy conglomerate. From the analysis result above can be concluded that PT Gilang Wisata Perkasa should apply the strategy which refers to the diversification of conglomerate now. This case bases on the recent company has the internal condition in average level and external condition in low level. In order to make competitive quality, the company must be able to minimize diversification cost, respond to changes of customer condition, and create value series that can be the characteristic of the company and new values in unit of business which is done by the company. Based on the conclusion above, the writer gives suggestions, as follows: the company should defend constantly the unit of business in tour and travel because the internal condition is in the average level and external condition closes to the average level. The company must be ready to face and anticipate the competition. For increasing his business, the company is expected more to keep look the threat in the external condition and the weakness of the company internal condition.
