English is important to be taught in elementary school since teaching English at elementary school is an implicitly efficient to give earlier foundation to acquire foreign language well. Since a child learn language faster and easier, they can pronounce the word better than adult can Huda (1999: 135) state that English should be taught in Elementary school as local contents seems to be related to the age of the learner that is young learner can produce better result. It does not merely serve local need, but its purpose is more for improving the quality of English instruction in general. This study was descriptive qualitative research. In addition, there are three instrument used in this study: Observation, Interview and Questioner. The purpose of this study is to discuss about the technique used by the teacher in teaching for the students and the students’ response toward the technique by the teacher used of MIM 02 Pondok Modern Paciran-Lamongan. Based on the finding of this research, the researcher draws the following conclusion. The teacher of MIM 02 Pondok Modern used the four technique for each class; they are lecturing, games, song and memorizing. Most students are interested in song because they like to sing and easy to memorize.
