STUDI KANDUNGAN AKTIF VITAMIN E (TOKOFEROL) DALAM BODY LOTION YANG BEREDAR DIPASARAN INDONESIA

Background:VitaminEisapotentlipophilicantioxidantthatprotectsmembranesfrom lipid peroxidation, which can result in oxidative damage. Alpha tocopherolhas been known as an antioxidant capable of maintaining significant membraneintegrity. The stability of topical vitamin E can be improved by using vitamin Econjugates, which are esters of tocopherol, resistant to oxidation but still able topenetrate the skin layers. In the skin, vitamin E can keep collagen production wellmaintained,generallybodylotionisanalternativeusedtomaintainhealthyskin.
Objective:ToobtaindataontheactiveingredientcontentofvitaminEderivativesusedin vitamin Ebody lotion productscirculating in theIndonesian market.
Methods:Productreviewstudyresearchwascarriedoutusingasimplequalitativeanalysismethod.Thenthesamplesizewasdeterminedusingthesamplingtechniquewith the slovin formula.
Results and Conclusions :The most widely used active ingredient derived fromvitamin E in vitamin E body lotions is Tocopheryl Acetate in 36 body lotionproducts(85.71%).
