Abstract

Today, the data increased the syndrome of HIV / AIDS is growing. Even in Indonesia, the development of HIV / AIDS are in poor condition. An estimated number of people with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA) has reached 130 thousand people and many of them have died. The number of cases of HIV / AIDS in Indonesia has entered the exponential growth phase, so the impact will come not only related to health, but also all other aspects of life. With the variety of stigma surrounding people and other discrimination by society, most of the patient with HIV / AIDS and will look at life as something useless or even meaningless at all. This study aims to determine the significance of patient living with HIV / AIDS. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to get an idea about the significance of patient living with HIV / AIDS. Through Conscious Heart Foundation didapatka two subjects who experienced the transmission of HIV / AIDS through IDU (Injection Drugs Users). Techniques of data collection using interviews and observation. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, followed by a triangulation of sources and triangulation methods in analyzing the validity of the data. The conclusion from this study that the two subjects have a meaningful life is pretty good. In terms of both subjects are still able to make use of free time with creative activities by refusing to deeds yng degrading, so this makes the subject do things is not determined by many things outside of himself. Until now, the two subjects can still be personally liable in mensikapi fate or destiny, because the subjects are aware that the situation today is God-given trials on the subject that is not good behavior. With love and support provided by family and friends of the subject, the subject is able to motivate themselves to stay alive until today, therefore the subject is always being optimistic and always oriented to future.
