Abstract
This study aims to determine the application of leadership style to improve employee motivation at PG Pesantren Kediri. The style of leadership is a process affecting the group's activities in the framework of the formulation and achievement of goals. Work motivation is a psychological process that reflects the interaction between attitudes, needs, perceptions and decisions that occur in human beings. In a style of leadership there is a problem between employees and leaders who can lower employee motivation. The subjects in this study were employees of the accounting and finance PTPN X PG Pesantren New Kediri totaling 30 people. The samples taken in this study are numbered 4 employees. Data collection methods used were observation and interview methods. From these results it can be concluded that employees who worked at the New School PTPN X PG Kediri feel any incompatibility with the leadership style that is applied, among other injustices in the distribution of wages, employer attitudes, a modified work system and job descriptions that are less clear. Those things that affect employee motivation.
