Abstract

Over time, the need for information on the society is also increasing. This affects the development of mass media, both print and media electronics. In print media, especially newspapers, many of which carry the segmentation for the middle to lower (yellow newspaper) as well as Pos Kota newspaper, for example Red Light, Metro Post and Warta Kota. Pos Kota newspaper which is a newspaper The first newspaper that carries the yellow segment at 70'an era, was considered successful maintain its existence in society today. Determination of segmentation here is required to determine the format of the news until the language used in presentation of news in the newspaper Pos Kota, given the audience of this newspaper is a layer of society from the middle to lower. Journalistic language is the language used to write the script on the news media, both print and electronic media. Due to space limitations on the media mass then must meet the characteristics of journalistic language as expressed by the JS. Badudu, which must meet the characteristics of a short, dense, simple, straightforward and interesting reader's attention. Referring to the asummsi Djen Amar that for the press yellow (yellow newspaper) standard rules of journalism is not so diperhatiakan both in terms of material and presentation. So the purpose of the research This is like knowing how big the suitability of journalistic language used by Pos Kota newspaper with the characteristics of journalistic language. This study uses quantitative content analysis is descriptive. Reason Researchers using this analysis, because the content analysis aims to obtain information about the message. Thus suitable for analyzing the contents of the news in a newspaper headline Pos City. Llingkup space research is the content of headline news in the newspaper Pos Kota 22 issue February - March 22, 2007. The analysis unit is the paragraph.
