Abstract

Women who have families and work will take on roles as both workers and mothers. These dual roles can trigger work-family conflict, leading to work stress. High work stress can negatively impact both the individual's condition and the company. The level of work stress experienced by an individual can vary depending on their hardiness personality trait. Individuals with high hardiness understand that stressors are challenges for them, whereas individuals with low hardiness see stressors as obstacles in their lives. This study aims to determine the influence of work-family conflict on work stress, the influence of hardiness on work stress, and the simultaneous influence of work-family conflict and hardiness on work stress among female employees. This research uses a quantitative approach with single and multiple regression analyses using Jeffrey's Amazing Statistics Program (JASP) software. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, involving 349 female employees. The research instruments include the work-family conflict scale, the hardiness scale, and the work stress scale. The results show that work-family conflict and hardiness simultaneously affect work stress (F = 79.066; p = 0.001 < 0.05). Work-family conflict has a positive effect on work stress (β = 0.441; p = 0.001 < 0.05). Hardiness has a negative effect on work stress (β = -0.366; p = 0.001 < 0.05).
