Abstract

This study aims to analyze police efforts in overcoming drug abuse crimes in the jurisdiction of the Nganjuk Police in relation to the Regulation of the Chief of the Republic of Indonesia Police Number 8 of 2021 concerning Amendments to the Regulation of the Chief of the Republic of Indonesia Police Number 1 of 2019 concerning System Standards, Management, and Operational Success of the Republic of Indonesia National Police. Although the law related to narcotics has been updated several times, cases of narcotics abuse continue to increase, including in the Nganjuk Regency area which is relatively small but has a high rate of cases. This study uses a field research method with qualitative data analysis. Primary data was obtained through interviews with the Nganjuk Police Narcotics Task Force, while secondary data was obtained from various sources such as books, journals, and laws and regulations. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner to describe the data and information obtained. The results of the study show that the efforts of the Nganjuk Police in tackling narcotics abuse include coaching, prevention and direct action. However, the obstacles faced are in the factors of facilities or facilities, community factors and cultural factors. This research is expected to contribute to the development of criminal law, as well as be a reference for academics and legal practitioners in efforts to overcome narcotics abuse.
