Abstract
This study aims to compare the factors that cause children to commit criminal acts in Indonesia and the United States. This research uses a qualitative approach with data analysis from the literature. In Indonesia, the main causal factors include a less harmonious family background, poverty, and the influence of a negative social environment. Meanwhile, in the United States, factors such as access to weapons, mental health problems, and media and cultural influences also play a significant role. The research results show that there are differences and similarities in these factors, which are influenced by the cultural, economic and social context of each country. It is hoped that these findings will provide a better understanding of crime prevention among children as well as appropriate policy recommendations for both countries.
