Abstract
The government's important role in village development efforts is to encourage community awareness of their own potential and the environment so that they can overcome problems that occur, for example poverty. So that village independence can be realized. This research aims to examine management of the Pujon Kidul tourist village, Pujon District, Malang Regency and the impact of implementing the concept of community based tourism (CBT) in the Pujon Kidul Tourism Village, Pujon District, Malang Regency, realizing village independence.
This research uses qualitative methods using descriptive methods. The data collection technique was carried out using the data triangulation method, namely observation, interviews, documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data reduction, data presentation and conclusions.
There is local community participation through Pokdarwis Dragonfly Alas, the creation of a tourist village institution in Pujon Kidul Village which is managed by Bumdes Sumber Sejahtera, environmentally based management of tourist attractions, the creation of 11 community business activity units whose administrators are indigenous people from Pujon Kidul Village, The impact of implementing the CBT concept can be seen through economic aspects (work diversification, improving housing conditions and developing new businesses), social. (social interaction, community participation, changes in thought patterns), cultural adoption, and the environment (improvement of public facilities). Conclusion: By fulfilling the Village Independence Indicators, not all of Pujon Kidul Village can be free from government assistance funds, but at least the fulfillment of basic needs, community activities, construction of public facilities, and existing economic activities can be fulfilled independently by Pujon Kidul Village.
