Abstract

This research discusses the de-dollarization efforts undertaken by BRICS member countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) in response to the dominance of the US dollar in international trade. The researcher assumes that a high dependency on the US dollar poses significant financial and econo mic risks for BRICS countries. The de-dollarization efforts aim to create a new currency that can reduce reliance on the US dollar and enhance global financial stability and fairness. The study also explores BRICS' policy strategies in international politics, including responses to the G7 countries' embargo on Russia. It was found that the new BRICS currency policy has great potential to enhance the economic and political power of its member countries and create a more balanced regional economic flow. Although the alternative of creating a new BRICS currency has not yet materialized, the member countries possess strong economies and significant potential for economic growth and trade, enabling them to seek alternatives in trade and foreign exchange reserves.
