Abstract

Trunojoyo Airport is the sole means of air transportation owned by Sumenep Regency, especially on the island of Madura, making it one of the most important airports on the island of Madura. Tunojoyo Airport currently has a runway size of 1600 m x 30 m and currently the largest aircraft type served is the ATR72-600. Currently the area of Trunojoyo Airport is 33ha with a total land area requirement of around 108ha. There will be the opening of new routes, namely from Sumenep - Jakarta, Sumenep - Denpasar, and Sumenep - Banjarmasin, therefore it is planned to develop the runway at Trunojoyo Airport with a Boeing 737-500 type aircraft due to adjusting existing needs and calculating the pavement using the CBR method and the FAA. According to ARFL (Aircraft Reference Field Length), the length of the Trunojoyo Airport runway after planning an extension using a Boeing 737-500 aircraft plan is 2089 x 45 meters. However, to increase the aircraft's safe area, it must exceed the planning length to 2250 m x 45 m. To calculate flexible pavement, use the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) method to produce a total pavement thickness of 46 inches or 117 cm. Meanwhile, flexible pavement thickness planning using the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) method resulted in a total pavement thickness of 26 inches or 66 cm. From the calculation of the budget plan, the cost of developing the Trunojoyo Airport runway using the FAA method requires a cost of Rp. 53,671,349,070.78
