PENERAPAN FISIOTERAPI DADA DENGAN MASALAH BERSIHAN JALAN NAFAS TIDAK EFEKTIF PADA ANAK PNEUMONIA

Background : Pneumonia is a disease caused by inflammation or swelling caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi which causes infection of the respiratory tract and lung tissue. Based on the results of basic health research, pneumonia is still the highest cause of death, reaching 28% with approximately 800,000 cases found in 18 provinces in Indonesia, of which the prevalence is above the national figure. Pneumonia can cause quite serious effects such as respiratory failure, bacteremia, pleural effusion and even death if not treated quickly. The aim of the research is to understand the concept of applying chest physiotherapy to the problem of ineffective airway clearance in pediatric patients with pneumonia.
Method : This research used the case study report method with the number of respondents being one child diagnosed with pneumonia. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observation, physical examination and secondary data methods. Data analysis used analytical methods in the form of nursing problem findings, nursing intervention with chest physiotherapy for children regarding airway clearance nursing problems was not effective with pneumonia.
Result : After administering chest physiotherapy intervention for 3 consecutive days using postural drainage, clapping, vibration and effective coughing methods for 10-15 minutes. The results showed that there were changes in respiratory frequency, reduced secretions and decreased additional breath sounds. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the application of chest physiotherapy is effective in treating ineffective airway clearance with pneumonia and is able to eliminate crackling sounds in the respiratory system.
Conculsion : The application of chest physiotherapy is effective and able to overcome the problem of ineffective airway clearance in pediatric patients with pneumonia and is able to eliminate crackling sounds in the respiratory system.
