PERAN PEMERINTAH DESA DALAM PENANGANAN STUNTING DI DESA AMPELDENTO KECAMATAN KARANGPLOSO KABUPATEN MALANG

The Indonesian government has made stunting a national priority and has appointed the Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) as the head of the acceleration to reduce stunting. Apart from that, the government is also making efforts to prevent stunting through building drinking water sanitation infrastructure to improve the quality of life of individuals. One of them is parenting patterns that do not encourage children to get the nutrition they need. In Malang Regency, stunting in toddlers is still found, especially in the Ampeldento Village area, Karangplso District, Malang Regency. Stunting in Ampeldento Village mostly occurs at the age of 17–59 months. That implementing the provisions of Malang Regent No. 23 of 2018 article 2 concerning efforts to prevent stunting is aimed at improving the nutritional status of residents, the quality of human resources and the environment through the involvement of all elements of the Regional Government, Village Government, private sector and residents. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, which is able to provide an overview of the role of the Village Government in dealing with stunting. The theory used, namely Edward III, consists of communication, disposition, resources and bureaucratic structure. The research results show that the government's role has not been able to reduce the level of stunting in Ampeldento Village and there are also obstacles from the people of Ampeldento Village themselves which are difficult to direct if socialization is held. However, behind Kendal, the Village Government is still trying to ensure that the community is no longer lazy by holding socialization regarding stunting so that stunting cases in Ampeldento Village itself can decrease.
