Abstract
Background: Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) undergoing CAPD are at risk of infection. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a disorder of kidney failure that is irreversible with abnormalities in the structure and function of the kidneys, where the body can no longer maintain metabolism and balance of fluids and electrolytes, causing uremia. Risk factors in CAPD patients are frequent complications in peritonitis. This complication of peritonitis is the main disease that causes death in patients with CAPD therapy.
Objective: This Final Scientific Paper of Nurses (KIA-N) aims to Analysis Of Infection Prevention Educational Interventions In Chronic Kidney Disease (Ckd) Patients Undergoing Continuous Ambulaory Peritoneal Dialysis (Capd).
Method: The research method used is a descriptive-qualitative approach with a qualitative case study research strategy.
Results: The main nursing diagnosis found in the case of CKD patients undergoing CAPD is the risk of infection. The nursing plan for infection risk diagnosis is risk control and implementation that focuses on health education related to infection prevention, especially in the peritoneum/exit site and/or the hole in the abdomen where a CAPD catheter is installed, which is the most complicated in patients undergoing CAPD, and in order to maintain its cleanliness by providing education related to the care of wounds or holes in the abdomen as well as how to wash hands correctly in 6 steps.
Conclusion: Patients with CKD who undergo CAPD are very vulnerable to infection in the peritoneal area where CAPD is attached.
