Abstract

Self-disclosure is an action taken by a person as a form of communication in providing personal information to others. Neuroticism, agreeableness, and conscientiousness are personality dimensions of the Big five personality that can affect the self-disclosure process. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of neuroticism, agreeableness, and conscientiousness personality on self-disclosure in female students who use Bumble in Malang. This study uses a quantitative approach. The measuring instruments used are the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale and the Big Five Personality - Inventory (BFI). Determination of the sample in this study using nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling type obtained 151 respondents. The results of the analysis using multiple linear regression tests show the probability (p=0.000) with the regression coefficient (R2=0.206), indicating that neuroticism, agreeableness, and conscientiousness have an influence on Self-disclosure on female students using the online dating application Bumble in Malang. In the neuroticism variable (p=0.000) with a standardized value (β=0.267), then in the agreeableness variable (p=0.009) with a standardized value (β=0.202), while in the conscientiousness variable (p=0.000) with a standardized value (β=0.310), the conscientiousness variable has a greater influence on self-disclosure in female students using the online dating application Bumble than the neuroticism and agreeableness variables.
