PENERAPAN METODE FISIOTERAPI DADA PADA AN. K DENGAN PNEUMONIA UNTUK MENGATASI BERSIHAN JALAN NAFAS TIDAK EFEKTIF

Background : Pneumonia is a disease that attacks the alveoli (air-filled sacs in the lungs). In general, there are three types of causes of pneumonia, namely bacteria, fungi and viruses. Pneumonia is the highest reason for death in children throughout the world, so it is categorized as a dangerous disease. Under-five deaths caused by pneumonia are estimated at 1.4 million toddlers every year. In this final scientific work, Ners raises the case of child K with pneumonia which his parents had just discovered. Therefore, this scientific work aims to explain the process of applying chest physiotherapy to children with pneumonia to overcome ineffective airway clearance.
Method : The research method used in preparing this Final Scientific Work for Nurses uses a case study report. The author follows scientific method guidelines which include: assessment, data analysis, nursing intervention, implementation and evaluation. In the data collection process, interviews, observations, physical examinations and documentation studies were carried out on child K.
Results : after chest physiotherapy nursing intervention was carried out in collaboration with the administration of a nebulizer for the diagnosis of ineffective airway clearance for 3 days (3 times implemented), the author obtained the results of a decrease in sputum production, decreased RR, SPO2 without a nasal cannula was good.
Discussion : In the nursing problem of ineffective airway clearance, chest physiotherapy intervention provides a good effect in the process of healing pneumonia. Nebulizer administration also plays an important role in the process of reducing secretions, RR, and increasing SPO2.
