Abstract
This study studied the use of ChatGPT as a teaching medium in learning TEFL of reading at the English study program 2023. This study aims to explore the use of ChatGPT as a teaching medium in learning TEFL reading in English study. The research is based on a descriptive qualitative method used to collect data from several grade B students of the TEFL in Practice course who used ChatGPT. The qualitative data were collected using an interview. In the pre-using ChatGPT, the researcher explores the knowledge about reading that informants have and how to use it in reading courses, combined with how to hone reading skills and also overcome reading difficulties with fluent pronunciation. In addition, while using ChatGPT, with the knowledge of ChatGPT, the informant and how it can apply it to read courses, as well as the usage of ChatGPT to help difficulties in reading ability. Lastly, the post-using ChatGPT has significantly become one of the platforms that can help students gain confidence and learn.
