Abstract
The Paris Climate Agreement is an agreement that has the main objective of overcoming climate change which is increasingly worrying in the world. This agreement itself was adopted by the majority of countries in the world in 2015 at the UN conference COP21, one of which signed the agreement was the United States which at the time it is led by President Trump. During President Trump's leadership, many policies or decisions aroused controversy, one of which was the withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement. This is an interesting issue to highlight further, because this policy change has attracted criticism and is not in line with the country's goals. countries that signed the Paris Agreement. The United States' withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement was motivated by several factors, one of which was economic. However, in 2020 Joe Biden was elected president of the United States. During the leadership of President Joe Biden, the United States re-signed the Paris climate agreement, this change in the United States' attitude itself shows a shift from anthropocentrism to ecocentrism, with a focus on environmentally friendly policies. The United States' return to the Paris Agreement has positive implications for national security, the economy, and the United States' reputation at the global level. In the midst of changes in United States policy regarding the Paris Climate Agreement, there are several aspects behind this policy change which will then become the focus of this research, namely how the United States' foreign policy changed regarding the Paris climate agreement during the election of Joe Biden as president.
