MOTIF PERCOBAAN BUNUH DIRI (Studi Kasus)

The term "suicide trend" is often heard in Gorontalo society, because there has been a dramatic increase in suicide cases, causing anxiety for the society and government. Attempted suicide is an act of self-harm and has the aim of causing death and occurs because it begins with suicidal ideation. Suicidal ideation is an idea, thought, and plan or intention that a person has to end their life by committing suicide. The aim of this research is to find out more about internal risk factors or internal motives that encourage suicide attempts. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The data collection method uses semi-structured interviews. The characteristics of the subjects in this research are Gorontalo people who have attempted suicide. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. The research results show that the existence of suicide attempts in the Gorontalo society is due to the large influence of internal factors. Good social relationships with family, friends and co-workers can be a protective factor that can reduce suicidal thoughts or desires.
