Abstract
Intellectual disability is a condition that arises during an individual's development that includes deficits in intellectual and adaptive functioning in conceptual, social, and practical domains. These limitations make individuals with intellectual disabilities experience difficulties in learning, one of which is fine motor development to develop according to their age. Interventions that can be used to improve fine motor development in individuals with intellectual disability are playdough. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of playing playdough on improving fine motor development in individuals with intellectual disability. This research applies a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and uses a single subject research (SSR) method in the form of A-B-A. The subjects of this study were individuals with moderate intellectual disability (IQ = 46, Wechsler scale). The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in fine motor development in individuals with intellectual disability after applying interventions with playdough. However, because each individual has different characteristics, intervention activities with playdough must be tailored to the conditions and needs of each individual.
