Abstract

Flood is an overflow of rainwater caused by several factors such as high rainfall intensity, poor drainage systems, and other factors. In this study, researchers are interested in investigating the drainage system in Bulukerto Village, Bumiaji Subdistrict, which is affected by floods due to high rainfall intensity and the absence of specific water discharge routes. Rainfall calculation will utilize the Gumbel method with a return period of 5 years, and population growth projections will be analyzed using Arithmetic, Geometric, and Exponential methods to determine wastewater discharge. The projected population growth of Bulukerto Village is planned to reach 6,962 people by 2029. The planned rainfall in that area, calculated using the Gumbel method with a 5-year return period, is 96.19 mm. The rainfall concentration results in 0.120 hours with an intensity of 150.53 mm/hour. The calculated flow rates for the existing channels resulted in planned flood discharge (Qrenc): SKN-1 0.131 m3/sec, SKN-2 2.045 m3/sec, SKN-3 2.638 m3/sec, SKR-1 0.106 m3/sec, SKR-2 0.653 m3/sec. The capacity discharge rates (Qp) for the channels are SKN-1 0.133 m3/sec, SKN-2 2.868 m3/sec, SKN-3 2.868 m3/sec, SKR-1 0.133 m3/sec, and SKR-2 0.887 m3/sec. Due to the drainage channels in the area being unable to accommodate flood flows, the channels are redesigned with dimensions of 0.40 x 0.70 m; 1.40 x 1.60 m; 1.40 x 1.60 m; 0.40 x 0.70 m; and 1.00 x 1.00 m.
