Abstract

This research wants to analyze how the Mahsa Amini Movement in opposing the Act of sexism that exists in Iran in 2022 to 2023. The Mahsa Amini movement is a movement that began with the death of Mahsa Amini who was caused by being tortured by the Iranian Moral Police. The incident experienced by Mahsa Amini was considered an act of sexism that aroused the anger and emotions of the community towards the Iranian government's responsive policies, especially those concerning women's rights. The concept theory used is the social movement according to Rajendra Singh by looking at Singh's opinion in 2010 regarding the classical tradition. The methodology used by researchers is descriptive qualitative with data collection in the form of Library Research. The results of the study show that Mahsa Amini's movement is a change in the mandatory hijab law in Iran. In addition, there is also an increase in penalties and fines for violators of the mandatory hijab law in Iran.
