The aim of this research is to determine women's resistance to acts of domestic violence, a wife's efforts to maintain the household even though her husband has experienced violent behavior.
This research is a type of case study field research with a qualitative approach which aims to obtain information in the field from victims who experience domestic violence in the GPA housing complex, Karangploso District, Malang District. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation. , and documentation. Interviews were conducted with women who experienced domestic violence.
The results of data analysis show that economic factors, family, mental readiness, poor communication can become problems in the household. Thus, resulting in acts of physical, verbal, psychological violence experienced by women. Women who help the family economically are also victims of violence and men who adhere to patriarchal culture are also the cause of domestic violence. Married couples whose average age is old enough and mature cannot guarantee that domestic violence will occur because they are not financially prepared and are not able to control their emotions well, which makes emotions difficult to control.
